We spent a couple of days at Le Vauclin, a very popular kite-surfing spot on the Atlantic Coast. We found a nice little beach-side restaurant there for lunch, with a friendly chef who spoke good English and also cooked good food.
We liked the place so much that we went there a second time a few days later. This was a Saturday and there were lots of kites in the air. The chef told us that they were practicing for a competition in the afternoon.
The water is so busy that they have divided it into zones where you are …or are not … permitted to do various things. And you can see why when kite-surfers zip along at 20 knots in six inches of water.
